The Trent Jones golf legacy began with Robert Trent Jones, Sr., and continues through his son, Robert Trent Jones, Jr. who after leaving his father’s firm in 1972, founded Robert Trent Jones II (RTJ II) golf course architects. Today, RTJ II is regarded as arguably the most talented golf course architecture team in the industry.
Jones Jr. is a member of the California Golf Hall of Fame, a time-honoured member, former president, and current board member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects as well as the recipient of many other industry awards and honours.
The Trent Jones name has become a trademark of well-crafted golf venues set comfortably in their natural environments. Known as the father of environmental golf course design, Robert Trent Jones Jr. respects and embraces the land in his efforts and proof of this is evident in each of his work.
RTJ II courses have won countless awards and accolades, been ranked among the best layouts around the world in addition to having hosted tournaments on every major golf tour, and The Mines Resort & Golf Club, a masterpiece of environmental restoration, is one of the privileged few.
